About Us
My name is Nicola and I live with my
husband Martyn in the beautiful south Wales valleys U.K. hence my
prefix Valleycat.
I purchased my first Ragdoll ,Zena, in October 1999 followed by
Gypsy four days later. My first litter was born in 2000. I have
always loved animals and used to breed and show German shepherd
dogs. From the time I met my first Ragdoll I have been captivated by
their looks and sweet personalities. My family tease me about my
devotion to my cats but without their help and support this hobby
wouldn't be possible. We have three children aged between seventeen
and twenty one who are a great help especially in socialising the
kittens. I also have a terrific mum who is prepared to drop
everything to take over their care so that we can take family
breaks.
All our Raggies are pets first and breeding cats second and their
well being always comes first,
We have a small Ragdoll community. My main aims are to breed happy,
healthy kittens, with wonderful temperaments but also keeping the
size, look and type that the Ragdoll is famous for. I am lucky as I am
home all day and have more time than people who have to go out to
work so this means I can have more litters and still give each
litter the time and attention they need and deserve.
People breed for many
different reasons some just like kittens running around some want to
put back into the breed just a little of what it has given them some
strive to produce that elusive perfect cat and its the challenge
that keeps them going, some think they will make some quick easy
money and are quickly disappointed, I think I breed for many
different reasons and these reasons have change or increased as the
years have gone by I started breeding because I had spare time in my
life and the idea of kittens running around and my fascination of
genetics seemed to appeal, now I love the excitement on peoples face
when they pick up their first Ragdoll. I can't imagine life without
a Ragdoll and if I gave up breeding tomorrow I know I will
always own a Ragdoll or maybe two or three or.........
The boys have new
runs and housing which are close to the house. In their runs they
have plenty of shelves and toys to keep them amused. They were
finished in the spring of 2006, they are easy to keep clean and
stay completely dry as they are inside a bungalow type building.
I used to be been a registered breeder with T.B.R.C.C.
and attended seminars with some of the original Ragdoll breeders and
met many of the people who strived to get the Ragdoll breed recognised in the UK and to Champion status where it is today
I am now a registered breeder
with the United Kingdom Ragdoll Breeders Society they encourage
their breeders to breed to a high standard, which I strongly
believing.
I bred CH Valleycat Billyblue the 1st entire male Ragdoll to become
a Champion with the G.C.C.F. All my kittens are raised in my home, so they are
accustomed to all household activities.

These kittens are using up some of their energy playing.
